Mosquito-borne illness

News said that there is a storm! …. Gosh, rainy days are here again, as well as the viruses that may cause diseases.

In tropical countries like the Philippines, mosquitoes are active all year round which result to a higher cases of mosquito related disease. Some of the common diseases are:

Malaria – caused by a bite of one or more parasite that infects human liver and blood cells which may result to chills, high fever, diarrhea, muscle pain and in some cases, heart, lung, kidney, and brain failure.

Encephalitis – causes a serious inflammation of the brain tissue that can lead to personality changes, metal retardation, amnesia, seizures, brain damage and even death.

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever - this deadly disease is a flu-like illness accompanied by severe rash, muscle pain, convulsions, and very high fever.


To prevent us from this deadly virus, we must get rid the mosquitoes. And here are some protection tips:
- remove all breeding places of mosquitoes(stagnant water)
- use a mosquito nets or repellent
- covered expose skin or wear light colored clothing.
